Foundations for FinTech Confidence
Designing a clean, investor-ready architecture for an ambitious financial tool before its first dollar.
FigSuite™ was an early-stage FinTech startup preparing for its first funding round. With no live product but a strong concept, the challenge was to build the structural clarity and user experience strategy that could win investor trust. I led the design of the platform’s information architecture—turning complex financial workflows into an intuitive system map ready for prototyping, pitch decks, and development.

Team & Operations Impact:
Translated abstract financial models into user-centered task flows
Facilitated workshops to define core user personas and use cases
Created a foundational content strategy and platform sitemap

Product Impact:
Enabled the founder to secure early meetings with VC and angel investors
Delivered a clear UX vision that guided future design and development work
Identified friction points before a single line of code was written
Positioned the product for future modular expansion with scalable IA
In May of 2022, the FigSuite™ Product Strategy Team conducted a series of design sprints to develop the core structure and user experience strategy for a financial planning platform aimed at small business owners. The thesis at the time was that great financial tools often fail not because of capability, but because of complexity—especially early on. We developed a full information architecture, content hierarchy, and key UX artifacts that transformed an abstract concept into a clearly defined product story.
FRAMING THE PROBLEM
The Problem:
Early FinTech products often overwhelm users—and confuse investors—with disjointed features and unclear value props. FigSuite™ needed a system that felt grounded, logical, and easy to navigate, long before development began.
How Might We
How might we structure a FinTech product in a way that feels simple, strategic, and fundable—even before launch?
Information Architecture:
After determining core functionality we structured how value will be delivered in a sitemap diagram. This provided a solid foundation to begin prototyping the app.
THE SOLUTION
Order from Chaos: Designing the Financial Flow
We crafted the complete information architecture for FigSuite™, including a sitemap, task flow diagrams, and wireframes for key user actions. It became the backbone for everything from prototypes to investor pitches.
